And Hudaifa is still standing!

Do you know that the gleam in his sad, blooming eyes was nourished by the oil of the earth kneaded with the blood of those ascending to heaven, and by the light of the orphaned moon that kept them company from the holes in the earth, whose furrows close over their bond.
They were like the white, veiled lily, of noble origin, honorable lineage, rare existence, in a field of rare flowers that are cultivated only with blessed, delicate, heavenly water; and indeed, the Spokesman was truly a fresh, white flower, overflowing with a fragrance you cannot smell until it disappears from your sight.
And if you saw one of them, veiled, dismounting toward death under the shadow of his rifle, not looking back, you would think him molded from a solid, unbreakable metal. But if you uncovered his heart, you would find them the most tender-hearted of people, the purest in conscience, the most delicate in essence, the most fragrant in scent, polished by the succession of tribulations and trained by frequent entries onto the field of death. In this purity of theirs, you see that their insight never tired, nor did they weaken for what befell them in the cause of God, nor did they falter or cower. They were not consumed by the bites of fear; nor did they incline towards seeking safety; nor did they slacken in pursuing the villains, nor soften when defiance was required, nor find comfort in the gentleness of a treacherous, deceitful, lying coward!
And they did not fall short in devotion to the truth they believed in and pledged to support. The feeling of duty and commitment to responsibility grew immense within them, just as their sense of truth had grown before, so they gave and scarcely took, as if they were guided ones, fashioned by God under His direct care and planning. Thus, they attained the noblest marks of freedom and the most intense brilliance of dignity, and they saw the green birds of Paradise unfurl their sails to carry them to the shade of the Throne.
And among the most wondrous things God granted them was that they never laid down their weapons, as if their supply was inexhaustible, as if God wished to strike with them the most profound example and clarify through their actions the most luminous images!
Those masked ones revealed to us that a nation is not measured by its numbers, nor valued by its wealth, nor weighed by its multitude, nor gauged by its smallness or largeness, but rather by rising above all of this, and detaching from it to submit to the truth, and sacrificing oneself.
And they taught us the meaning of not desiring to meet the enemy, and that well-being is not in abandoning the enemy or acquiescing to injustice or choosing degradation, but rather in being cured of it.
And they taught us not to expose ourselves to tribulation, but if tribulation befalls our land, then we must not flee from it, even if we think that in fleeing lies salvation, because steadfastness with patience is obligatory when meeting it.
They always used to say to us: By God, we do not fear those scoundrels, nor are we intimidated by them, and nothing deters us from them, for we have broken down the gates of their fortresses, and stormed in upon them by force, and we will certainly do so.
And they informed us of the honor of the believers, that we are God's wrath upon them, and His crushing hand against them, and His punishment poured upon them, and thatWe have tended the path to victory with the utmost care, with all that we have prepared to the best of our ability as God has commanded us; and our horses are still in the field, neighing, charging upon them and retreating; and if we tighten our grip on our weapons, and each of us knows the target of his projectile, the position of his enemy, and the place of his opportunity, then we embrace death and launch the assault without relent.
The certain destruction lies in waiting for the enemy to bombard you and erase your place, and if you do not go to death willingly, it will come to you hastily. The duty to aid the people of the frontier has become incumbent upon you, and the duty to join their plight, and to embark on any ship that reaches them, and to enlist in any action that relieves them from wherever you are. People have delayed in this to the point of treachery, and how close is the wrath of God to befall those who fail and betray!
And if Hudhayfah falls, another Hudhayfah has risen in his place. The covenant is still the covenant, the oath is still the oath, the promise is still the promise.
